our company was in the position to hire a full time web designer/developers. there seems to be a lot of people who are only a designer, a developer, or they are a third party team that you contract. a lot of dev work in that area seem to be dominated by contracting. i understand that for a lot of companies, website development is not their core competency and they would rather contract out that work. in the land of web 2.0, shouldn't there be a plethora of full time professional web developers who can also design the look and feel of a site. if there are, then am i just looking in the wrong places? i've tried sites such as craigslist and dice but have discovered it is populated by contractors.
where are you finding these people?!?
